 Current News and Updates for child care providers:

  • Child Start is Expanding Child Start’s Child Care Outreach program has expanded into new counties as part of a major redesign by KACCRRA with the intention to better serve both child care providers and parents. 

    Child Start was selected as one of three Call Centers and takes parent child care referral calls from the entire 316 and 620 area codes.  Child Start was also selected as one of seven District Offices and now serves providers in: Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Marion, McPherson, Reno, Rice, Sedgwick, and Sumner counties.

Referral Program

Free advertising for child care providers!  Child Care Referral is a strong network that links child care providers who have opening with parents looking for child care.  We receive more than 6,000 calls a year from interested families.  You take full advantage of this FREE service when you update your provider profile on a regular basis.

Resource Library

Our resource library offers references, curriculum kits, videos, toys and equipment available for check-out.  Die-cutting and laminating services as well as a computer lab are also available for providers.

Substitute Program - Caring 4 Kids

Caring 4 Kids is the Child Start’s substitute service.  If you need a qualified person to help in case of an absence, we can send a fully-trained substitute to help.

Technical Assistance

Our child care specialists are ready to offer you support or find answers to questions you may have.

Infant / Toddler Project

Child Start has 5 infant/toddler specialists to serve as mentors to new and experienced child care providers on the importance of quality infant/toddler care.  Check here for important infant/toddler specific information.

KQRS

Kansas Quality Rating System provides parents with a 5 star rating system for making an informed child care choice.  Selected child care providers from Sedgwick and Butler Counties are currently involved in this pilot program.

EHS Partnerships
