Early Childhood Specialist

Salary:  $35,991 entry level

Schedule:  52 weeks/year, 40 hours/week

 

REQUIRES:    Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, human development, family development or related field.  Three years supervisory experience.  Three years management experience including budget and financial responsibilities.  Two years in child care and two years Head Start experience.

 

 

PURPOSE OF

POSITION:     Is assigned three Head Start Centers to mentor, providing early childhood education expertise and support.  Works cooperatively with assigned Early Childhood Managers for curriculum implementation.  Provides support and training to Early Childhood Managers to ensure mentoring occurs in each classroom.  Provides curriculum training and classroom observations.  Responsible for complete and accurate Program Information Report data and data entry.  Responsible for recruitment, outcomes reports, and child transitions, and works with assigned sites’ ERSEA Committees and CAT.  Monitors and oversees assigned sites’ budgets.  Serves on assigned sites’ interview teams for classroom teaching staff and assists with hiring staff at assigned sites.  Supervises Early Childhood Managers at three assigned sites.  Practices Reflective Supervision with supervisees.
